A strong partnership
Lübeck Airport and VFL Lübeck Schwartau have now been linked by a strong partnership spanning several years. As the main sponsor, Lübeck Airport is now for the second time on the chest of the jerseys of the strong VFL handball players. Home games will again take place in the 2023/2024 season in an enthusiastic setting in the "Hansehölle", which will guarantee goosebumps. We are on!
Here is the report from the VFL on renewed sponsorship:
VfL Lübeck-Schwartau and Lübeck Airport will take off together again in the coming season. Lübeck Airport will remain the main sponsor of VfL and will continue to feature on the jersey.
VfL Lübeck-Schwartau already played with the Lübeck Airport logo on the chest of their jerseys last season. The youth teams also continue to wear the logo of Lübeck Airport on their jerseys. The partnership was extended for another year.
"I am very pleased that Lübeck Airport and VfL have checked in together for the coming season," enthuses VfL Managing Director Daniel Pankofer. "Lübeck Airport is not only an important economic factor for the infrastructure in the region, but also a strong partner for professional and performance-related handball in Lübeck. I am therefore delighted that Lübeck Airport's flight schedule also includes the upcoming VfL season in addition to many great destinations and I am looking forward to a turbulence-free cooperation and the implementation of joint projects".
In addition to the presentation on the jersey, there are other advertising measures such as placement on the LED boards and the airport box in the Hanseatic Hall.
Jürgen Friedel, Managing Director of Stöcker Flughafen GmbH & Co.KG, says: "Handball is like flying - a dynamic and fascinating sporting combination that is about speed, precision and togetherness. We value the tradition of handball in Lübeck and would like to help ensure that it lives on and grows. In the new season there are new players on board – just like here at the airport. We look forward to growing with them and experiencing great shots and exciting games.”
Since 2020 there has been a domestic German flight connection to Munich at Lübeck Airport. Since spring 2022, Lübeck has also been able to fly to many European destinations. There are attractive seasonal holiday destinations such as Iceland, Mallorca, Menorca, Corfu, Corsica, Sardinia, Crete and Antalya.
